Wineries
Over the last 30 years, the wine trade has experienced the
arrival of wines from the New World wine-producing
countries. The New World, as described by the wine trade
includes wines from such countries as South Africa, New
Zealand, Australia, the Americas, Argentina and Uruguay. The
Wine Cellars Group is proud to represent wineries that
produce high quality wines with a unique style and taste. We
are continuing to evolve and are adding new wines all of the
time, so look here for new introductions coming from the new
world wine regions.
South Africa
At the foot of Africa, guarded by the meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans and protected in the valleys formed by the rugged mountain ranges, lies the ‘fairest Cape of them all’. Known for its majestic beauty and Mediterranean climate, the Cape is home to the winelands of South Africa. Wine making in the Cape winelands stretches back to 1655, when vines were first planted by the early settlers. Today, ten years on from the lifting of Apartheid sanctions, South Africa is a young, but peaceful democracy and a country of enormous diversity. Its wines imitate this diversity, particularly with respect to the embracing of both Old and New World styles.
